This summer, Vivid opened their doors to welcome a host of talented young interns for the first ever Vivid Summer Camp. Applications were welcomed from students across various disciplines including design, social media and project management, and by the end of the 10 week Summer Camp thirteen students had graced the Vivid office. This was a unique opportunity for students to work alongside the Vivid team and gain invaluable industry experience to boost their CVs, with the added bonus of paid expenses.
The Summer Campers worked alongside the Vivid team on live jobs, allowing them to put some of their university knowledge into practice and giving them a real feel for the industry. The design students were then also tasked with the job of creating a poster that epitomised Vivid as an agency. The non-design students undertook to create a social media strategy for Vivid. This gave the campers the opportunity to properly showcase their talents and to use the experience they had gained from working in a busy agency. The posters were submitted and put up on our Facebook page, the public then had the chance to vote for their favourites – which would go forward to the judging panel. The social media strategies were also sent out for judging, a team of industry experts then had the difficult job of choosing a winner! After much deliberation, the winning poster and social media strategy were chosen and we were delighted to announce that Sarah Baskeyfield and Pedrom Pourkashanian would be crowned Summer Camp 2012 winners.
Everyone at Vivid was overwhelmed by the high standard of entries, and wish all of our Summer Campers the very best of luck for the future! You can see all the entries, including Sarah’s winning design, here http://on.fb.me/TuC431
